Preparing and Mixing the SNAP Hydroponics Solution

Mixing the SNAP hydroponics concentrated nutrient solution with water is easy. The nutrient solution mix will be your vegetable's food while in the growing box until it's time for you to harvest. The mixed solution contains all of the nutrients needed by your plants to grow.

Here are the things you need...

  • Water tight container that is enough to hold at least 10 to 12 liters of water
  • 10 to 12 liters water
  • SNAP nutrient solutions (A and B)
  • Measuring spoon or cup / syringe (without the needle)

Procedure for preparing and mixing the SNAP Hydroponics Solution

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. This will help to avoid contaminating your nutrient solution.

  2. Fill an opaque or dark colored container with 10 to 12 liters of water.

  3. Add 25 ml of SNAP A nutrient solution and mix thoroughly.

  4. Add 25 ml of SNAP B nutrient solution and mix thoroughly again.

For leafy vegetables, such as mustard and lettuce, this nutrient mix may just be enough to support five to eight plants (depending on the variety) until harvest without refilling the solution.

For convenience, you can pre-mix your hydroponics nutrient solution in a larger container. Just make sure that you cover it tightly to avoid mosquitoes from breeding.
